The UHP Biomedical Research and Mentoring (UHP RaMP) is the same research program I participated in last year. The name may have changed a little but the overview and mission statement of the program have not changed. UHP RaMP serves to match undergraduate students who wish to do research with mentors at either Cincinnati Children's or UC College of Medicine. This semester I was far less gun-ho for reasons I talk about in my blog and reflective essay, so I only applied to two labs and only interviewed at the lab I ended up working in. If you want to know more about the hard science of what I please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I really didn't go deep into the science anywhere as I was trying to make everything on this page accessible to people without a heavy science background.
Overall what is shown on the tabs underneath this one is a life-changing experience for me. I went into
this experience not liking research a great deal but understanding that it is important for Medical school and I did enjoy it a little the last time I did it. Now I really enjoy research. I enjoy enough that I decided to try and find funding to stay in my lab over summer and I was lucky enough to be awarded SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships).
So please peruse the following pages to learn more about what I did this semester!
